Morning Salado flight.

QS MXL Flight at 2TX Salado Airport. Just purchased a fairly new Quicksilver MXL Sport from Facebook. Had 16 hours total with a new Hirth F-23 engine.

Just a glimpse of my friend Travis passing by my hangar.

Was a beautiful day to fly so we decided to move my airplane to Salado Airport. Once we arrived, I asked Dave to take my wife Tara for a ride. Once they took to the sky, he showed her its gliding abilities as well as a few wing over maneuvers. I could see her smiling when the sun was on her face. This plane is nothing short of amazing. We are going to have some good times in this bird.

Its been a long time since my Pipistrel Sinus has seen the sun but today it was time to move it since my new hangar is completed. We had a straight 90 degree crosswind which didn't help lift but as you can see rotation took place right at mid field. This was with 400lbs of man fat onboard and 15 gallons of fuel (holds 18 total) so not too bad for a little 80 hp 912UL.

Flew over Ians place and then off to Pauls. I landed downwind just because with no issues. Its just amazing how many really cool homes there are out on this side of Williamson County.

Just checked plugs, fuel lines, filters, carb bowls. Engine is running perfect. But I will note, the spark plug caps where it clips to the aluminum end of the spark plug seems to vibrate just enough to cause aluminum powder at the connection. I always clean the caps and metal from inside the spark plug boot as well as the spark plug tip. I wish someone made a wire that used an eyelet to attach ...

Had to get up and do a little flying. winds were OK and the strip was mowed.

Just a nice evening flight to scope out all the development in the area. More neighborhood construction than I would like to see. Traffic is going to start sucking real bad!
